Today day we had lesson with Mr Yamasaki we learn how to make a cane It was cool that I got it this time because we went to room 7 and we did it there but I did not make it because I did not get help but now I got help by Mr Yamasaki.

Cook Island Language Week

Today there were some Cook Island people who came to teach us about their Cook Island history and how to build a vaka without tools.The thing that I learned from them  was how to use the drill and their language.They make the drill to to do the vaka the string that they use to make the vaka is called niu, it is a string made out of the outside of the coconut.They told us about how you know when you are at your place these things will help you get to your designation birds because birds do not fly that far.Next they showed us some photos of the vaka and the canoe they told us how it is made then they ask some quietest if there was no tools to make a vaka what will you use we said rocks or shells they said you could use it but they had a different idea they burn the wood and started to scrap the in side.the they gave us the some a drill to play with I was good at it so I had to give it to someone else so when that was done they pack up and said Kia Orana and sing a song a we life.

Today my class and I were greeting some lovely ladies to come and do a theater they names were Katelyn and Julie but you could call Kaitlyn her Florida once they came they started  throwing the theater the theater was about a family fight the characters names are T the boy Dave T dad, Maraea T mum, Jack T friend , Brian Maraea boyfriend and becca .First we had to put our tables to the side and sit on the mat then room 7 came. First they ran us through a little bit of the story then we split up we had Kaitlyn and room 7 had Julie .Next we had to make a donut shape the students who were the middle were people that Kaitlyn told them to be out of the characters the outside was the same but they had to move around 2 or 3 x left after morning tea we had to be T ,Dave,Maraea T mum, Jack T friend , Brian Maraea boyfriend and becca Brian dad we had to get into group up into 4 but we did 3 we had to act one of the I act Dave Huntah act Marea and Zain act T. The instruction was to act we only have four lives and if we talk when she said paues we lose a life we lost 3 life and the we had to do the hard way so we got a life back and we won we got a card .
